Viewing PDFs (Portable Document Format)

Many of the Trust's leaflets and application forms are available on the site for downloading. Most of these documents are in PDF format which means they can be viewed using the free Adobe Reader software. Please Note that Adobe® Acrobat® Reader software is required to open the attached documents. Adobe® Acrobat® Reader is a free utility that can be downloaded from Adobe.

Select to download it.

If you want to view the PDF document in a new window, please right click on the icon with your mouse and select "open in a new window". After viewing or printing the document, you can close the new Web browser window by using the close button at the top right hand corner.

Adobe also offer other useful resources and tools to aid the accessibility of PDFs, these can be accessed via the Adobe Accessibility website, and include a text-only Adobe Reader download page and an online conversion tool for PDFs.

Online and downloadable (PDF) forms

A number of forms on this site are available for online completion and we will be adding to the number of online forms in the months ahead. The remainder are PDF forms on the site that are enabled for electronic completion. This means that you can save a copy of the form to a location you select on your computer, complete the form fields in Adobe Acrobat, print out a copy for your records and a copy to send, sign and return by post or in person to the address indicated on the form.

If you have a full version of Adobe Acrobat you can fill in the form electronically, save it and email the completed form to us as an attachment, to the email address included in the document. However, you can only save a completed form if you have the full version of Adobe.

If you prefer, you can print out the form, complete it by hand and return it by post or in person to the address on the form.

Listening to PDFs - Read Out Loud

The latest version of Adobe Reader, version 7, comes with the ability to "read" the PDF content to you. This function known as "Read Out Loud" can be accessed as follows:

With the PDF you want read to you open in Adobe Reader 7, go to the "View" menu and select "Read Out Loud", you will then have the option to "Read This Page Only" or "Read To End Of Document".
