other library services

Libraries  are safe, welcoming spaces where people can meet and relax. As well as being a great place to find all sorts of  books and information there are a great many other services on offer........

Let us entertain you

We can offer a wide range of  DVDs to suit all ages and tastes. For a small charge you can watch the latest movies or catch up on those shows  you always wanted to watch but never managed to catch on TV.

Community information

If you'd like to learn more about what's happening in your area, or you need some assistance promoting your community group or event, libraries are a great place to start. We can help you by displaying posters and leaflets on notice boards and in community information folders.

Faxing and photocopying

All our libraries offer a photocopying service and most offer faxing  too. You can  copy your documents yourself or for a slightly higher fee staff will be happy to copy your documents for you.

Free Internet  and computer access

All our libraries offer free access to computers with a range of software packages, broadband internet and  both colour and black on white printing.  Some of our libraries also have scanners which you can use. It is advisable to book ahead to be sure that a scanner is available. WiFi is available in the William Patrick Library, Bearsden Library, Bishopbriggs Library and Lennoxtown Library.

Local publications for sale

We offer a range of books and publications about the local area for sale which can be useful gifts.

Newspapers and magazines

Our libraries take a range of  newspapers, magazine  and periodicals which you can consult and read in the library. We also offer free access to some online newspaper resources   and the digital magazine service, Zinio.

Community groups can promote their activities and events by mounting displays in many of our libraries, subject to availability. Please complete the application form and send to Archives & Local Studies.
