Swimming holiday programme

We have an exciting variety of classes running over the Easter and Summer holidays with some changes across the programme. Below is an overview of what we generally offer and full details on class times and costs are advertised nearer the time.

Crash Courses - week long intensive classes. Please check our booking notes for eligibility.

New applicants - 30 minutes

This course is aimed at children who have never attended lessons before. This class will introduce children to basic water confidence and movement as well as elements of each stroke in a fun and challenging way. Children will also try some MINI POLO! on the final day.

Booking Note: Children must be born on or before 31/03/2012. No previous experience necessary.

Beginners - 30 minutes

This is only for children who are currently in Levels 1 - 4 of our lessons. Pupils will work on relevant technique, skills and aquatic activities. Children will also try some MINI POLO! on the final day.

Booking Note: Only for children currently in our classes at Levels 1 - 4

Improvers 45 minutes

This class is for children currently at, or just been assessed for Level 5 and will take place in the main pool. Children will be introduced to deep water skills and swimming technique will be developed accordingly.

In addition to swimming skills, will introduce the Aquatic Disciplines of water polo, synchronised swimming, diving and lifesaving. The class will run in two parts, the first half will concentrate on swimming technique and over the last half of the class the Disciplines will be introduced.

Booking Note: Children must have been assessed at Level 5 within our classes.

Developers 60 minutes

This class is for children currently at, or just been assessed for Levels 6, 7 or 8 and will take place in the main pool. Children will be challenged with longer swim distances and the ability to hold technique over the increased distance.

In addition to swimming skills, pupils in the Developers class will be introduced to the other aquatic activities such as water polo, synchronised swimming, diving, lifesaving and AQUA BOOT CAMP for Juniors. This class will have two distinct sections, one where we concentrate on stroke development and the other where the activity is introduced.

Booking Note: Children must be attending our classes at Level 6 or above.

Junior Lifesaving

Junior Lifesaving class is for our more advanced swimmers. This exciting class will introduce the basic skills required to keep swimmers safe, carry out effective rescues and some basic first aid. This class will be a mix of theory, first aid and practical pool sessions.

Booking Notes: Children must be ages 8+ and be able to swim 100m of 2 different strokes confidently without stopping and should be confident in deep water. For safety reasons, any child who is unable to meet the swimming requirements will be removed from the class.

Introduction to Synchronised swimming

Before children practice the synchro moves in the pool, there will be a short video session or gym session (subject to coach availability),  where pupils will have the opportunity to see or try athletes routines or shapes. Children will learn the basic skills and shapes for synchronised swimming, put these to music and perform short routines. 

Booking Notes: Children must be ages 8+ and be able to swim 50m of 2 different strokes confidently without stopping and should be confident in deep water. For safety reasons, any child who is unable to meet the swimming requirements will be removed from the class.

Introduction to Mini Polo

This class introduces the FUNdamentals of this exciting team sport. Children will learn ball handling skills, basic teamwork and of course, play games of polo!

Our intro to polo will take place in the teaching pool and is open to non swimmers and beginners as well, fun for everyone!

Introduction to Water Polo

A basic introduction to this fast and exciting team sport. This is a step up from mini polo and will take place in the main pool. Pupils will learn deep water practices as well as the basics required a play a game of water polo.
