Sports Facilities

East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Cultural Trust have three multi-purpose sports and leisure facilities.

Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre opened to the public in July 2007 this £8.66m state of the art centre rivals some of the best in Central Scotland.  In only one year after opening it obtained a VisitScotland four star quality assurance award. Set in Woodhead Park, it has helped to regenerate the surrounding parkland and create a brand new children’s playpark.  Designed in consultation with the community, it offers great health and fitness facilities

The Leisuredrome was opened in 1973 by HRH Princes Anne, and was known as Bishopbriggs Sports Centre, a major refurbishment programme took place in 1994 and the centre was launched as the Leisuredrome. The centre has remained popular, and hosts a number of events throughout the year, including The Bishopbriggs Triathlon.

Allander Leisure Centre was originally known as The Allander Sports Centre , and was officially opened in 1977. A major refurbishment programme took place in 2001.
