East Dunbartonshire Trails and Tales Programme
Trails and Tales is a three-year arts and heritage learning programme which will engage artists with communities to explore their local history and heritage.
Each of the creative projects featured on this web site will generate research, conversations and creative responses to learning to inform the design and creation of a series of outdoor sculptural arts and heritage trails, across eleven local communities (towns and villages) in East Dunbartonshire.
From 2014 to 2017, Trails and Tales will work with eleven towns and villages across East Dunbartonshire: Auchinairn, Baldernock, Bearsden & Westerton, Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch, Lennoxtown, Lenzie, Milngavie, Milton of Campsie, Torrance and Twechar.
These areas were identified and consulted with through a series of events in 2013. The information gathered informed external applications to funding bodies.
Please see the project website for all activities, events and opportunities.
Arts and Heritage Network
All of the activity Trails and Tales provides acts as creative consultation, building heritage led profiles of our towns and villages. From this activity the project will create a network of community participants who have an interest in Arts and Heritage.
Their purpose will be to continually engage with the programme, enabling themselves and others to make decisions about their Heritage and the Trails we design and create as part of this project.
This project is delivered in partnership with the Heritage Lottery Fund.
