Healthy Reading is about using books to help people who are experiencing stress or other emotional difficulties. East Dunbartonshire libraries have a collection of Healthy Reading materials dealing with some of the common issues many of us face including anxiety, depression, bereavement, assertiveness and stress.
One in four of us will experience some sort of mental health issue at some stage in our lives. Our Healthy Reading Collection has been selected by health professionals to provide practical advice and information to help you to cope with some of life's hurdles.
Health & Wellbeing Resources
In our libraries you can find health and wellbeing information in the format that will suit you best. These include DVD’s, leaflets, books and E-audiobooks. For example we stock NHS publications which offer help and advice on subjects such as strokes, ICDs and dementia. These can be accessed easily from our leaflets stands. Some of our libraries offer self service kiosks for borrowing and returning resources. We also have a Pop Up Health Library which has been located in various local community venues.
To see more about our Health and Wellbeing resources there is a short film you can watch.
