We have introduced a new badminton course at all 3 leisure centres.
It’s called Badminton Games and is aimed at those in P7 and above who have played badminton before. It’s a supervised session with one of our EDLC badminton coaches and the focus is on playing games of badminton (both doubles and singles). There will be a small element of group coaching in these classes but the majority will be games. All equipment will be provided if you don’t have your own racquet.
As a result of this, there will be a higher participant to coach ratio, however the cost of these courses will be lower than our fully coached sessions. The courses will cost £24 per 12 week block, so it works out at £2 per week. (EDLC Passport to Leisure prices will also apply)
A new initiative within East Dunbartonshire, Community Participation Club started on Friday7 October 2016 in the Allander Leisure Centre.
These sessions are for you if:
- you are wanting to play non competitive badminton in a relaxed atmosphere.
- you haven't played in a while.
- it's hard to find a playing partner
- your competitive days are over
- you just want to play badminton.
- you want to keep fit
All ages and abilities are welcome.
As this is a social environment, there won't be lots of rules and regulations for you to worry about. Simply come along, put your name on the board, and the organiser on the night will do the rest. You can play as many or as few games as you want. There will be time to sit and chat with your fellow players as well.
Cost will be £5 per session.
Rackets and shuttles will be provided if you need them.
