The library provides support for parents and carers through events and activities for children and families, specialised resource collections, and a place to interact with other parents and carers.
Talking Together information
All of our libraries have a Parent & Carer collection within the junior library. The collection has a wide range of books to guide you and your family through pregnancy, the terrible twos and dealing with teenagers.
TalkingTogether Book Collection
Launched in September 2012, the TalkingTogether book collection has proved very popular across East Dunbartonshire. Collections are located in William Patrick, Bearsden Library, Bishopbriggs and Lennoxtown Libraries on special display stands.
The collection aims to support local parents and carers in talking to their children about topics such as puberty, growing up, sexual health and relationships. The books are suitable for children aged pre-five to teenagers but we recommend that the adult always read the book before sharing it with the child.
