Gymnastics Frequently Asked Questions

When do your terms run?

We no longer run terms as our lessons are now ‘continuous’. Classes run throughout the year with breaks for Easter, Summer, October and Christmas holidays. Further details can be found here

Gymnasts shall move when they are either of age to move to the next group or they are ready to move to the next skill level. We shall advise you when your child is ready to move.

Children can join at any time subject to spaces being available.

How do I book?

Please e-mail gymnastics@eastdunbarton.gov.uk and we shall send you the link to the booking form – subject to availability.

How much are your classes?

Payments are made by Direct Debit and you pay monthly for lesson. Currently (May 2022) the cost is £19 per month and there are discounts available for siblings or concession memberships. For further details please visit the Children's Classes web page.

What should my son/daughter wear?

Children should come dressed in shorts/joggers/leggings and a t-shirt. No dresses, long tops or jeans. Children should be in bare feet with all jewellery removed and long hair tied back.

Should I stay in the hall during the class?

We ask that once your child has settled into their class that you leave the sports hall but remain within the sports centre.

How will I know how my child is progressing?

You are more than welcome to speak to one of the class coaches at the end of your child’s session. Children will be encouraged to participate in badgework activities and will have the opportunity to gain a badge and certificate. This is an incentive for the children and as our classes are recreation level – badgework is not compulsory.

I have been trying to phone the office but I haven’t been able to speak to anyone?

Please note that we have limited time in the office as staff are also out coaching. Please leave a message and someone will return your call as quickly as we can or alternatively e-mail us at gymnastics@eastdunbarton.gov.uk
