Easter will be here before you know it! We've got lots of fun activities planned for the school holidays, including:
- Sports camps
- Library pop-ups
- Bubble shows
- … and lots more!
We're offering big fun for your little ones.
Bearsden Hub, including the library, is due to reopen on Monday 16 March, following a period of closure for essential works to be carried out following the discovery of RAAC within the building.
As a result of the Hub closing, it was decided that Bearsden Library staff would relocate to Westerton Library on a temporary basis to allow us to increase its opening hours. This was always an interim arrangement.
The library staff that relocated to Westerton Library will therefore return to Bearsden Library for it’s reopening and Westerton Library will revert to its usual opening hours.
Similarly, our Children & Families team, who relocated some of their activities from Bearsden to Westerton will return to Bearsden Library. This will ensure the level of service at Bearsden Library reverts to what was on offer before the closure.
The above actions will ensure both Bearsden and Westerton libraries will operate to their full-service level – the same as before the closure of Bearsden Hub - bringing an end to the temporary measures that we put in place.
We fully appreciate that many local residents have been able to take advantage of the temporary increase in opening hours at Westerton. At this present time East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture Trust does not have the resource to increase opening hours or staffing levels across our libraries.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our library users – particularly those in Bearsden for your support and understanding while Bearsden Hub was closed and we look forward to welcoming you back to Bearsden library from Monday 16 March.
