About Kirkintilloch Town Hall
Kirkintilloch Town Hall & Heritage Centre is a public building and available to book for events such as festivals, conferences, weddings, parties, music rehearsal, cinema screenings, dance or drama performances and community group meetings.
The building has been rejuvenated with a major refurbishment – delivered by East Dunbartonshire Council and EDLC Trust, with funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Historic Environment Scotland and the Scottish Government.
The original 1906 B-listed sandstone building reopened in 2018 with the addition of modern function spaces as well as offices, a reception area and a platform lift – installed to increase accessibility.
It represented a significant investment in one of this area's most iconic buildings – benefiting both Kirkintilloch and the wider East Dunbartonshire area.
Bookable facilities include the Main Hall and Lesser Hall.
The Town Hall is also home to the Made in Kirkintilloch Heritage Centre (see below).

There is a carpark adjacent to the Town hall but this is for shopping centre patrons only and has a 24 hour monitoring system.
East Dunbartonshire Council car parks:
- Barleybank 84 spaces
- William Patrick Library 89 spaces
Charging times have been kept to a minimum, Monday to Saturday 9am to 5.30pm, with no restrictions in the evenings or on Sundays.
The charges are:
- 0-2 hours - £1
- 2-3 hours - £2
- 3-4 hours - £3
- Over 4 hours - £5
Bookable facilities include
- Main Hall - offering flexible auditorium and events space (17m x 16.5m) with a potential capacity for 300 people, lighting and portable staging
- Lesser Hall - in the new extension (8.8m x 18m), equipped with AV system and a potential seating capacity of 160.
The Made in Kirkintilloch Heritage Centre on the first floor of the Town Hall tells the story of Kirkintilloch’s industrial history through a permanent display on the upper floor.
It's suitable for families, with interactive and drawing activities available. We also have a community learning space and co-curated exhibition space which has a changing programme of collaborative exhibitions between artists and communities.
