'Leg Up' Award Scheme

Amateur sportsmen and women who provide the following evidence will be eligible to apply for a grant under the ‘Leg Up’ scheme:

  • Membership of a sports club or governing body of sport relevant to the application.
  • Evidence of sustained involvement in the sport for which the application is being made.
  • Evidence of a training or development plan aimed at improving performance and gaining entry to National Squads.     

Consideration will only be given to applicants residing permanently in East Dunbartonshire.

Applicants must be affiliated to East Dunbartonshire Sports Council either through their club or as an individual.

Applicants are requested to complete Section A and before returning the form have it authorised under Section B by a representative from the Governing Body of Sport concerned or approved club coach.

The level of grant aid available will be within the following range:

  • Minimum Award            £50.00
  • Maximum Award           £100.00

East Dunbartonshire Sports Council reserves the right to consider each application on its merits and is under no obligation to grant aid applicants or specify reasons for refusal to do so.

The conditions of the scheme may be varied from time to time.

East Dunbartonshire Sports Council must be satisfied that the applicant has exhausted all other alternative sources (National Association, Scottish Sports Council) so that duplication or grant aid can be avoided.
