The exhibition tells the story of the Monkland & Kirkintilloch Railway which opened in 1826 and covered a 10-mile route from collieries in the Monklands to the Forth & Clyde Canal in Kirkintilloch. The exhibition is part of EDLC’s Local History Month programme.

Guided Walk: Walking the Monkland & Kirkintilloch Railway

Join Don Martin MBE for a guided walk along the northern part of the route of the Monkland & Kirkintilloch Railway. The walk will start at Southbank Marina and finish at Whitegates. It will last approximately 1 hour.
