It’s a variant of football that is aimed at keeping people aged over 50 involved with the sport and provides tremendous physical, social and mental health benefits for participants. Come along and give it a shot! Where: Indoors main hall at Bishopbriggs Leisuredrome When: Thursdays (from 24 October) 11.00am - 12.00noon Cost: £3.50 and includes a tea/coffee following the gameWalking Football, a slow-paced version of the beautiful game aimed at the over 50s, has arrived in East Dunbartonshire with other venues popping up all over Scotland.

Walking Football is designed to help people keep an active lifestyle despite their age, as well as getting those back playing football who had to stop due to injuries, work commitments or hectic lifestyles.

As the name suggests, Walking Football is non-contact and anyone that sprints, runs or jogs while the ball is in play will be penalised with a free-kick awarded to the other team.
