We have an exciting variety of courses running over the Easter, Summer and October holidays with some changes across the programme. Below is an overview of what we generally offer and full details on courses times and costs for our Holiday Programmes will be linked here when available.
Bespoke swimming - 30 minute tailored session open to children and adults
Are you looking for a small size swimming group which is highly individualised? You’re in luck! Back by popular demand we are offering Bespoke Swimming where each course is tailored to your group’s needs. Bespoke Swimming takes place in the teaching pool, however if required, please contact Swimming Development to discuss other options. You decide who attends this course (maximum 4 participants per booking) so gather your friends and book into this unique swimming experience. This class offers a unique alternative to individual lessons as the pool is booked exclusively for your group.
Swimmers shall receive a swimming goodie bag * (subject to availability)
Class open to both Adults and Children, (aged 5 years and over). No previous experience necessary.
Children must be born on or before 18/08/2014 to participate.

Beginners - 30 minutes
Courses take place in the teaching pool. Pupils will work on relevant technique, skills and aquatic activities. These lessons will incorporate Water Safety and pupils will also try some MINI POLO! on the final day.
Booking Note: For children currently in our lessons at Levels 1 to 4 and children who have not been in lessons before. Children must be born on or before 31/03/2015.
Advanced (swimfit) 45 minutes
This course is for children who currently attend our Learn to Swim Programme at Level 5 or above, have been assessed at a holiday ‘Beginners’ course, or children who are comfortable in deep water. The course will take place in the main pool. Children will be introduced to deep water skills and swimming technique will be developed accordingly.
In addition to swimming skills, we will introduce the Aquatic Disciplines, of water polo, synchronised swimming, diving, lifesaving and water safety. The class will run in two parts, the first half will concentrate on swimming technique and over the last half of the class the Disciplines will be introduced.
Booking Note: Children MUST be confident in deep water and be able to swim 12.5m demonstrating good technique in 2 strokes. Participants must be able to tread water for a minimum of 30 seconds out of their depth.
Swimmers who do not meet this criteria will not be allowed to participate.
This 2 ½ day Junior Lifesaving course is for our more advanced swimmers. We will introduce the basic skills required to keep swimmers safe, carry out effective rescues and some basic first aid. This course will be a mix of theory, first aid and practical pool sessions.
Booking Notes: Children must be ages 8+ and be able to swim 100m of 2 different strokes confidently without stopping and should be confident in deep water. For safety reasons, any child who is unable to meet the swimming requirements will be removed from the course
This course is not certificated.
Introduction to Synchronised swimming
Before children practice the synchro moves in the pool, there will be a short video session or gym session, (subject to coach availability), where pupils will have the opportunity to see or try athletes routines or shapes. Children will learn the basic skills and shapes for synchronised swimming, put these to music and perform short routines.

Booking Notes: Children must be ages 8+ and be able to swim 50m of 2 different strokes confidently without stopping and should be confident in deep water. For safety reasons, any child who is unable to meet the swimming requirements will be removed from the class.
Introduction to Mini Polo
This course introduces the FUNdamentals of this exciting team sport. Children will learn ball handling skills, basic teamwork and of course, play games of polo!
Our Intro to Polo will take place in the teaching pool and is open to non swimmers and beginners as well, fun for everyone!

Following the success of this class last summer - we are offering a unique diving class for children. This class will work on techniques to develop racing starts for swimmers through fun activities. In addition to dive starts we shall also introduce some basic techniques for high board diving so any budding Tom Daley’s can get involved.
For children currently in our programme who may be struggling with a specific stroke. Clinics will take place in the either teaching or main pool and will concentrate on fault correction in one particular stroke, (as advertised), providing extra support for our swimmers. Other strokes will be incorporated in the lesson structure but will not be the main focus.
Booking Note: Teaching Pool Clinics are for children currently in our lessons at Levels 1 to 4 and Clinics held in the main pool are for children who currently attend our Classes at Levels 5 to 8.
Individual Lessons (1–1)
These lessons are available for adults and children no matter what ability. The 1-1 lesson will take place in either the main or teaching pool depending on the needs of the swimmer. These lessons may be suitable if you have a fear of water, require help in a particular area or maybe just having that personal aspect gives you confidence to learn to swim.
Children must be 5 years of age or over, there is no upper age limit.
Participants do not get exclusive use of the pool.
